Nanette has practiced law for almost twenty (20) years and spent most of her career in large law firms, but left to partner with Kevin and Craig. She continues to deliver big firm quality and experience to her clients. Nanette tailors particular services to each client depending on the needs of each client, as no insurer’s approach is exactly the same.
Nanette focuses her practice on first-party and third-party coverage and defense for the London Market of insurers and domestic surplus lines and admitted carriers throughout the Southeast, including Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Carolinas, in all state and federal courts. It is not unusual, however, for her to be litigating in other venues, as well, given the breadth of coverage she handles. She has tried, arbitrated and mediated hundreds of cases.
Nanette routinely addresses small and high exposure property claims arising from both manuscript and form policies, and prosecutes and defends declaratory actions. Nanette’s practice involves all aspects of property loss, including complex business income loss, forensic accounting, fraud and misrepresentations in the application process, reservation of rights and examinations under oath. Nanette has particular expertiese in arson cases from the initial cause and origin investigation and works closely with adjusters and experts.
Nanette has substantial experience with Cat losses, including litigating hundreds of Hurricane Katrina and Rita claims in Louisiana and Mississippi state and federal courts. Nanette also has significant expertise in extra-contractual/bad faith litigation. She also handles specie, commercial crime, inland marine/admiralty, bloodstock, agriculture, livestock and commercial carrier coverage and defense cases. In addition, Nanette prosecutes large subrogation recovery actions on behalf of insurers.
A large portion of her practice on defending third-party liability claims arising from wrongful death, professional liability, construction defect, and premises liability, and she has successfully defended multiple insureds in federal and state courts.
Nanette is regularly retained to manage or supervise litigation in all parts of the country on behalf of insurers for both property and liability claims.
